Fluence, a leader in psychedelic therapy training, in collaboration with the Ukrainian Psychedelic Research Association (UPRA) and the U.S. nonprofit Heal Ukraine Trauma (HUT), is proud to announce a new initiative for Ukrainian mental health professionals. This collaboration will make Fluence's comprehensive training materials available, free of charge, to Ukrainian psychologists and medical doctors who are addressing war-related trauma and are interested in incorporating Psychedelic Harm Reduction and Integration into their clinical practice.
In response to the psychological trauma inflicted by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, Fluence has translated their course materials into Ukrainian. This initiative is part of Fluence's commitment to humanitarian aid, offering a beacon of hope and healing to those grappling with the devastating mental health impacts of war.
Over 540 Ukrainian mental health specialists have already signed up for this program. Fluence and UPRA are diligently working to implement a verification process to ensure that the resources reach genuine Ukrainian psychologists and doctors.
“We are deeply honored to support Ukraine's mental health professionals through our collaboration with the Ukrainian Psychedelic Research Association and Heal Ukraine Trauma,” said Ingmar Gorman, Ph.D., co-founder and CEO of Fluence. “By providing our psychedelic therapy training materials, we aim to empower practitioners to heal the profound psychological impacts of war. This initiative underscores our commitment to fostering hope and resilience in the face of adversity."
UPRA has been instrumental in translating the course materials into Ukrainian and will oversee the enrollment of participants. Additionally, UPRA is actively advocating for the recognition of this course as a valid form of postgraduate education for medical and psychological professionals in Ukraine.
“The transformative power of psychedelic-assisted therapy is a beacon of hope for our nation that has been profoundly affected by the scars of war,” said Oleh Orlov, Chairman and CEO of UPRA. “This innovative approach to mental health is not just about healing. For Ukraine, where the collective psyche bears the heavy burden of war and related traumas, this represents not just a medical advancement, but a crucial step towards national recovery and emotional resilience.”
With ongoing discussions and hopeful prospects, Fluence and its partners are optimistic about the future of psychedelic therapy in Ukraine. This collaboration marks a crucial step towards healing and resilience, offering new avenues for mental health professionals to support those affected by the war.
